The First Three Days - A Second Attempt
So here we are again in another attempt to do a three-day juice fast. I tried it yesterday, but due to other circumstances, it went awry. So, today begins a new attempt and I know that this time will go better.
I'm starting out with a lovely carrot/apple/lemon juice. Yesterday I made a carrot/apple/ginger juice that was absolutely amazing. And, I don't even care for carrot juice on its own. It's too bitter for me. The apple and the ginger gave it the needed sweetness and kick. I'm sure the lemon will make it a bit sour, but good, too.

The New Attempt
Okay, so we're back, and this time we're doing it a bit differently. After having done a bit more research and mentally prepared a bit better for this juicing thing, I know I am ready to try my revamped effort. It may end up being a "two steps forward, one step back" kind of things at first, but I figure that is better than nothing at this point.
I have printed up the grocery list for the recommended 3-day juicing plan, which is what I'll be doing for the next three days beginning tomorrow. (Saturday). It is going to be a bit difficult with my work schedule, but I'm up for the challenge.
Titan hasn't lost his desire for juicing, though he hasn't been as strict as before. I know that together we are going to be able to encourage each other to get through this first three days.
I did notice last time when juicing that I had a lot of energy. More than I had while working, even though I felt so very hungry at first. I hope that this revamped thing will allow me to ease into a longer juicing session eventually.
I did gain a bit of the weight back after the first 8 days last time, but not as much as I thought.
My current weight: 238. My ultimate goal weight is 180. Anymore than that and I fear that I will look emaciated. My bone structure is pretty large. Although, once I reach that first goal, we'll see how it goes. Perhaps I'll need/want to lose even more.
For now, let's get through the next three days.

Days 4 and 5
DAY 4
Yesterday was a little bit rough. It seemed as though I didn't have time for any juice at all. I know I had at least two, and a full blown meal. I was so drained after work that I needed something more than just the usual juice. I also went and bought a pitcher that holds 64 ounces and one of those reusable cups with the straws so that I won't have anymore excuses not to have juice in the mornings before work.
DAY 5
Today work went very well. I only ended up downing orange juice in my new cup on the way to work (at 5:30am). I also had a lot of water, which helped curb how hungry I actually was. I had more energy today than the last few days. I'm not sure if that is due to the juicing, or if it's due to anything else. I didn't really get very much sleep.
This evening I am going to work on the juice for my pitcher. That's how busy it's been. hehe... I did go to the store this afternoon and picked up another $20 in produce. I am going to try some new combinations. I bought a purple cabbage, some jalapenos, and some various peppers, and along with herbs such as cilantro and parsley I believe I can come up with some nice variations. I am going to maintain some of my more normal juice in the pitcher, though. If I happen to come up with something that tastes exceptional, I'll be sure to share it. (I doubt that there's anything that hasn't been done already, but such is life.)
So, it's day five, and I still haven't had any soda! I almost grabbed one to purchase at work today and stopped myself and bought water instead. I was happy with that decision because it gave me the energy I needed to finish working without crashing. I had a very sensible lunch today and will be doing juice for dinner tonight. I think I'll try something with the jalapeno!
Titan is still sticking to his juice fast pretty good. I know that he has been concerned about protein and such, so he has been eating cottage cheese and beans. I certainly can't fault him for that! He works in a kitchen in one of the restaurants in Sparks, so I can only imagine how difficult it is for him to not think about eating while at work so much!
Please feel free to leave comments about what you've read. If you're a juicer, have juiced before, or even if you haven't, I'd love to hear from you! Besides, motivation comes from within, encouragement comes from without!

Day 3
I feel like I'm crashing beyond sanity with this thing.
So, upon further research on the reboot site, there were several actual plans to follow. a 3,5,10, or 15 day plan with pdfs to help get started. So, I downloaded the 15 day plan and there is so much good information including some recipes to help get started. I'm not sure that we will be following this plan to a "t", but The idea of having juice two or three times a day and then one meal such as a salad for the first five days appealed to the both of us.
And, I'll admit that with my work schedule being as screwy as it is, this is not working very well for me just yet. I need to get a glass pitcher or something so I can make juice in advance. According to the website, I can store it in the fridge for up to three days. I did end up eating a salad last night that Titan made for me. It was really good and contained tons of veggies, so I don't really feel like it was "cheating" necessarily.
But, I will say that the detox portion of this juicing thing is actually working for me. I can see it every time I go into the bathroom. Titan say that it is working for him, too.
After this first two-week juicing fast, I know that I will be doing it again, but the next time I will follow the instructions more carefully. Live and learn.
I am happy to say that I have not had any soda since we started this adventure... Three days and counting!
